Warzone 2 has a lot more features than the previous edition, with Strongholds and Black Sites being one of the major additions. They allow players to get some of the best loot in the game, and even some rewards for MW2 multiplayer. So, check out our explainer of Black Sites, along with a walkthrough of how to get a Black Site Key.

How to get a Black Site Key

To get a Black Site Key, you must be the first Operator squad to clear a Stronghold in a Battle Royale match. Al Mazrah features three fortified Warzone 2 Strongholds that come to life at the end of the first circle collapse. These points of interest are marked clearly on the in-game Tac-Map by a castle icon.

Every Stronghold in Warzone 2 contains a ticking bomb. The first team to defuse the bomb gets a Black Site Key, as well as a Loadout Crate and a temporary UAV effect of the surrounding area.

More than one squad can clear a Stronghold and claim the secondary rewards, but only the first team to do it will get a Black Site Key.

What are Warzone 2 Black Sites?

Black Sites are more deadly forms of Strongholds. Conquering a Black Site will require that you clear out a large number of formidable AI combatants.

Triumphing over a Black Site for the first time will unlock a permanent Weapon Blueprint for use in Warzone 2 and Modern Warfare 2.

In addition, you'll receive a slew of powerful in-match items for your efforts. Black Sites contain all sorts of Legendary loot, plus a permanent UAV of the area surrounding the Black Site until it is in the circle collapse radius.
