How to deal damage with arena carriables in THE FINALS

While the easiest way to deal damage in THE FINALS is with weapons, you can get creative by using some of the arena carriables that are dotted around the map. This latest shooter from Embark Studios raises the skill ceiling in a big way, letting players use their creativity to capture objectives and eliminate opponents.

If you’ve been playing daily, you might have noticed that one of the rotating challenges is to deal a certain amount of damage to opponents with arena carriables. Here’s exactly what you need to do to achieve this, as well as some handy tips to help you do it faster.

What are arena carriables?

Arena carriables are any item that you can pick up with your carry button while playing a match of THE FINALS.

The most typical types of carriables are the fire, gas, explosive, goo, and smoke canisters that are littered around every map. These are most often used for tactical reasons, like blowing holes in the sides of buildings to create new pathways, but they can be used to damage opponents too.

To pick up an arena carriable, walk up to it and press the F key on PC, X on Xbox, or Square on PlayStation. You can then either throw the item by pressing the left click (Right Trigger) or drop it by pressing the right click (Left Trigger).

While throwing an arena carriable at an opponent and landing a direct hit will deal a small amount of damage, there are a few methods you can use to deal massive amounts of damage and complete your daily challenge with ease.

My favourite method to use is to hoard a bunch of arena carriables and place them around a Cashout Station once it’s been claimed by my team. When an attacking team tries to steal the Cashout, I can then shoot one of the carriables which will set off a chain reaction of explosions, gas, and fire to engulf the enemy team member.

Another way to deal massive damage is to always carry an explosive canister around with you when entering buildings. An explosive canister takes a little while after it hits a wall to explode, but if you fire them inside, they’re usually kept within a small area. Throw an explosive canister at an enemy inside a building, and you’ll more than likely deal massive damage.

If you keep up these methods across multiple rounds of THE FINALS, you’ll no doubt manage to deal enough damage with arena carriables to complete your challenge in no time.
