It's hard to believe that more than five years after it was initially announced, Bethesda's latest big RPG has finally arrived - but can you play Starfield on Xbox Game Pass on console, cloud, or PC?

After Microsoft splashed out on a deal to buy Bethesda's parent company ZeniMax Media in 2021, many gamers had wondered if Starfield would arrive on Xbox Game Pass. Microsoft's subscription service is constantly adding fresh titles, but with the company lacking its own exclusives when compared to Sony, it felt like an easy choice to bring Starfield to Xbox Game Pass.

Here's everything you need to know about Starfield on Xbox Game Pass.

Yes, Starfield is on Xbox Game Pass, and it was available when the game launched on September 6.

You're able to jump right into the game on Xbox Series X or S as right now if you have an active subscription to Xbox Game Pass.

As per usual with Xbox Game Pass games, you are able to pre-install the game onto your console regardless of whether you have an active subscription. This means you can download it remotely if you're away from home, and then start the subscription when you get back to maximise your game time.

Not everything on Game Pass is available on both PC and Xbox, but fortunately, Starfield is available on PC Game Pass as well as consoles.

PC players are able to download Starfield through Game Pass and play it just like everyone else on Xbox Series X or S. It's also a play-anywhere title, so if you buy a digital copy, you can play it on both Xbox and Windows PCs with cross-progression.

Starfield is also available to play through the Game Pass Cloud service. As long as you have a stable enough internet connection, you can play Starfield anywhere on a mobile or portable device.

Xbox is keen to get this game in the hands of all Game Pass players, and that includes anyone who plays through the Cloud service - but your mileage will vary based on connection strength and your device.
