It's important to learn about the Stimulant Addiction status effect in Starfield, its drawbacks, and how you can cure it to become clean from the game's various stims and be more effective in combat.

The game brings a lot of new options and features to the typical RPG formula, allowing you to live out your space fantasies by smuggling and selling contraband, stealing ships, and exploring various planets

The future still has drugs, of course, and your character can become addicted if you aren't careful - so here's how you can remove Stimulant Addiction.

How do you cure Stimulant Addiction?

There are two main ways to cure Stimulant Addiction in Starfield, which involve either visiting a doctor or taking the Junk Flush stimulant.

A doctor can cure your addiction for 450 credits, but this means you'll need to return to a major settlement where they can be found.

An alternative when you are on the move is Junk Flush, a stimulant you can purchase for 665 credits to cure your affliction. You can also craft this item at a pharmaceutical lab when you reach level 4 in the Medical Treatment skill.

There are no other ways to cure this, but it's a fairly lenient effect, especially compared to how addiction works in games like Skyrim and Fallout.

If you become addicted to a stimulant, you can take any stimulant to fight the effects of withdrawal. There is also Addichrome, a stim that specifically fights withdrawal for ten minutes and costs 380 credits, making it perfect in a tight spot.

How to tell if you have a Stimulant Addiction in Starfield

A pop-up will tell you if you become addicted to stimulants in Starfield, but you can also check from the status menu, where the effects will be listed. You can become addicted by taking any stimulant too often.

Stimulant Addiction gives you two major debuffs to deal with:

These effects will last until you take another stimulant or fully cure the addiction, meaning it can be a drain on resources if you need to constantly take stims as you play.
