Spider-Man: Miles Morales: How Do You Use Gadgets?
Insomniac Games once again has us caught in a web of intrigue as Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales prepares to climb up the spout again. As the follow-up to 2018's Spider-Man, the next chapter shifts focus to Miles Morales - who was a standout addition to the first game.
Although Miles Morales feels familiar because it plays almost identically to its predecessor and "The City That Never Sleeps" DLC that continued MIles' story, there's plenty new here to grab everyone's attention.
Spider-Man had a variety of ways to take out thugs and the Sinister Six through the use of gadgets including the classic Web-Shooters, the Impact Web, Electric Web, and Spider-Drone. Just like to Peter Parker's gadget-packed wardrobe, it's more than just a snazzy array of spandex suits that make Miles the perfect crime fighter to take over from Spidey as he tackles troubles elsewhere. So, just what gadgets is Miles packing, and how do you use them?
How to use gadgets in Spider-Man: Miles Morales
Click to enlargeMiles doesn't have quite as many gadgets as Peter Parker, but as a junior vigilante who is new to the superhero scene, what do you really expect? Similar to Spider-Man, players start off with just the staple Web-Shooters. As the campaign progresses, you can unlock Holo-Drone, Remote Mine, and Gravity Well - with each being equipped to your expanding arsenal for a quick flurry of animated attacks.
Pressing R1 will release your current gadget (which is Web-Shooters by default), however, holding R1 will bring up the gadget wheel. With the wheel up on your screen, highlight which gadget you want to use. With it selected, this then becomes your R1 default. Simply pressing R1 will fling your gadget out there, but if you want a more precise shot with the Web-Shooters, hold L2 to activate Aim Mode. In particularly, stealth missions will require precise aiming where L2 will become your friend with the Remote Mine.
Upgrading gadgets will use either Activity Tokens or Tech Parts. Activity Tokens can be obtained by beating crimes through Ganke's app, while Tech Parts are usually found by looting Underground Caches and beating Roxxon or Underground hideouts.
