Spectre Divide is a recently revealed 3v3 tactical shooter, with a unique twist that sees you playing two characters with the same brain, letting you switch out freely - even after you die in one body.

In early August, the game has a limited stress test, and there are expected to be more playtests in the future, along with a closed beta. You can have a chance of getting into these by following our steps below.

How to get access to the playtest

To get into the Spectre Divide playtest you'll need a Steam account. If you have one, follow the steps below:

  • Head to the Spectre Divide Steam page
  • Click 'Add to your wishlist' below the trailers and images
  • Select 'Request Access' a little further down

You'll get a notification if this has worked, and you'll now be in the pool of playtest candidates for the future.

We don't know exactly when the next playtest or the closed beta will occur, but if you've signed up by following the instructions above, you should get an email confirming you can take part around the time of the next one.

The Spectre Divide Playtest app will also appear in your Steam library if you're one of the lucky people who've been selected.

Why can't I install the Spectre Divide Playtest?

For some people who signed up for the first playtest and got selected, you'll see the Spectre Divide Playtest in your library already - but trying to install it will cause an error message to pop up.

This just means you missed the first playtest date, which took place for roughly eight hours on August 3, 2024.

As I said further up, this is the only first chance you'll have to try the game, so keep an eye out on the game's socials to see when the next tests are set to take place and you may be able to take part.
