Early in your Skull and Bones playthrough, you'll be prompted to create a Captain. Once you spend some time with them, you might find that you have regrets, or maybe you're just someone who likes to switch things up

Whatever the case may be, you'll be happy to learn that you can indeed change your appearance in the latest action-adventure game from Ubisoft.

How to change your appearance

Following the initial shipwreck where you design your Captain for the first time in Skull and Bones, you won't have to wait too long before you can customise them further.

To change your appearance, simply visit any Vanity Atelier in the game. An icon of a mirror on the map denotes Vanity Ateliers. The first one you'll come across is in Sainte-Anne, and the shop is run by Florentine d'Alesso.

You won't be able to take advantage of a Vanity Atelier right away, though. First, you must carry on with the story and complete contracts for Sainte-Anne's Blacksmith, Thomas Raferty. Eventually, he'll assign you the contract Dressed to Kill, which will lead you straight to a Vanity Atelier.

All customisation options

When you speak to the NPC at a Vanity Atelier, you'll have two options: purchase and equip items or change your physical appearance.

Selecting purchase and equip items will take you to the Cosmetics Shop where you can browse a vast collection of clothing and outfit your Captain in Sets, Headwear, Face Accessory, Neck, Torso, Waist, Forearm, Hand, Bottom, Footwear, and Body Cosmetics. You can even equip Emotes!

If you opt to change your physical appearance, you'll get to recreate your Captain from scratch, just like you did back in the tutorial. Your options here include Preset, Body Type, Body Cosmetics, Eye Colour, Hair, and Facial Hair. While cosmetics cost Silver, Pieces of Eight, and Gold, changing your physical appearance is entirely free.

That's the basics of changing your appearance in Skull and Bones. If you're going to wreak havoc and cause mayhem throughout the Indian Ocean on your journey to becoming a mighty pirate kingpin, you might as well look good doing it!
