Find out about the Handiness Skill cheat & how to use it in The Sims 4
The Handiness Skill cheat for The Sims 4 is a great way to max out your Handiness Level and unlock the ability to instantly repair devices without slogging away hours of gameplay time practising the skill.
In The Sims 4, cheats are allowed and are even encouraged in the game by developer Maxis. As such, let's get into learning how to use cheats in The Sims 4 and how to use the Handiness Skill cheat.
How to use the Handiness Skill cheat
To use a cheat like that of the Handiness Skill in The Sims 4, you must first enable cheats in your game by bringing up the cheat box at the top left corner of your screen by using the following controls:
- For PC, press CTRL + Shift +C
- For Mac, press Command + Shift + C
- For consoles, press all four triggers at once
- Type "testingcheats on" into the box that appears
- Press enter to enable cheats in your game.
After this, you should be able to input the Handiness Skill cheat, listed below.
Handiness Skill cheat code and what it does
The cheat code you'll need to enter for the Handiness Skill in The Sims 4 is "stats.set_skill_level Major_Handiness X"; this will boost your Sim's handiness, but you'll need to replace the "X" with the number level you wish to set the skill as.
For example, if you wished to max out the Handiness Skill and give your sim Handiness Level 10, the code would be: "stats.set_skill_level Major_Handiness 10".

If you have more than one Sim in your household, make sure you have selected the correct Sim that you wish to give the skill to before using the cheat.
With the example above, you should have max Handiness and will be able to auto-repair broken devices and furniture instantly.
What's more, you will also be able to unlock higher upgrades when building or upgrading certain furniture from the Build/Buy catalogue.
