Rogue Legacy 2 Biomes are the varied regions that make up the procedurally generated Kingdom. Rogue Legacy 2 tasks players with exploring this massive Kingdom and taking down all of its bosses, typically one per biome.

While the map is random each time you play, the locations of each biome are always roughly in the same location, although there can be more steps involved to properly access them. Here is everything you need to know about the Rogue Legacy 2 Biomes.

Citadel Agartha

Citadel Agartha is the initial area of the game, the first part of the Kingdom you will explore. As such, it is the place you will likely spend the most time overall. Here you will get to know the basics of the game and encounter many of the enemy types that the game will throw at you.

Citadel Agartha will be your gateway to much of the rest of the game, heading north, south, or east from here will bring you to the other areas of the game. There are also a couple of Heirlooms to grab here, specifically Anake’s Shawl and Aesop’s Tome.

Axis Mundi

Axis Mundi is to the right, or the east, of Citadel Agartha. This region stretches far to the right side of the map and leads the player to Kerguelen Plateau. Axis Mundi is unusual among the biomes as it is not made up of many connected rooms.

Instead, it is functionally one very long room with two exits, one in the middle heading upward and one to the right. The top exit will take you to the Sun Tower, but you will need the Void Bell Heirloom to properly enter the area. Continue on to the right and defeat the Void Beasts to reach the Kerguelen Plateau, the next area of the game.

Kerguelen Plateau

The Kerguelen Plateau is the snowy area in the furthest right part of the map. It is a more typical region of various rooms for you to explore. Here you will need to take down Estuary Naamah, and also travel to the Far Shore to grab the Aether’s Wings Heirloom.

These give you the ability to double jump which you will need to reach future areas. Kerguelen Plateau is quite a bit tougher than the previous areas and is a real test for players making their way through the Kingdom.

The Stygian Study

Chances are, the Stygian Study was the first new biome you discovered in the game. It is situated directly above the Citadel Agartha region and is easily discovered while exploring the early parts of the game. However, you cannot easily enter this area without the Aether’s Wings Heirloom.

Once you have that, you can make your way into the Stygian Study. It is important to explore this place as it is where you will find the Void Bell Heirloom which will give you access to the next two biomes, as well as gaining access to Estuary Enoch’s boss room.

The Sun Tower

The Sun Tower is accessed through that upper exit we mentioned in Axis Mundi. As the name suggests, this is a very vertical area. There will be a lot of platforming to do, you will need to make use of the Heirlooms you have collected to climb the tower.

The tower can be very dangerous, not just from the myriad enemies here but also the death-defying jumps you’ll need to make it to the top. Defeat the boss of this area, Estuary Irad and you will then be able to make your way into the last biome.

Pishon Dry Lake

The Pishon Dry Lake region is directly below Citadel Agartha. If you head there before defeating Estuary Irad you will meet the Nameless Knight, who will tell you that you cannot enter the region without a Sun Lantern.

Defeating Irad gets you the lantern you need, and you can descend into these murky depths. Down in the Pishon Dry Lake, you will encounter gigantic tuning forks. These are used to navigate the area, as you will be able to see the other forks on your map. You can use these to start making your way around and find your way to the boss of the area, Estuary Tubal.
