Resident Evil 4 Remake Mercenaries release date
The Resident Evil 4 Remake launch trailer revealed that the game's Mercenaries mode will be released as a free DLC on April 7, which is exactly two weeks after the game launched.
In the original RE4, players first had to complete the game to unlock the Mercenaries mode. We aren't sure if this requirement is still there in the remake or if you can play it straight away, but it's likely that most players will have finished the game by then anyway.
The Resident Evil Mercenaries mode was first introduced in Resident Evil 3: Nemesis, though RE4 is where the mode first became popular, with it becoming synonymous with the franchise thereafter.
For those who don't know, Mercenaries is basically a wave-based mode where players score as many points as possible by killing enemies in the allotted time. There are typically multiple stages that can be unlocked after reaching score thresholds on other stages, along with unlocks like weapons and costumes.
We aren't sure if the Resident Evil 4 Remake Mercenaries mode will be a straight remake of the RE4 mode, but we'll find out soon as we get closer to the April 7 release date.
