Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown introduces side quests to the series, allowing you to complete optional objectives as you explore Mount Qaf - and Ancient Power Unearthed is one of the first you'll encounter.

The game's map is full of side rooms and hidden areas to explore, with many letting you gather collectibles like Spirited Sand Jars and maps, or complete objectives for side quests.

If you need a walkthrough to complete the Ancient Power Unearthed quest in The Lost Crown, we've got you covered.

To start the Ancient Power Unearthed quest, you will need to head to Kaheva's Forge in The Haven after picking up Menolias' Bow.

You can find a yellow portal in the wall which takes you to the forge. Just speak to Kaheva, and select the "Ancient Power Unearthed" dialogue option to begin the quest.

After you start the quest, the exact location you need to visit will be marked on the map (like in the picture above).

The particular place is located on the west side of the Lower City, a few rooms before the first Wak Wak Tree you encounter.

After you arrive, you'll come to an underground corridor with an elevator platform and a wheel inside a cage. Here are all the steps you need to take from here:

  • Use your Chakram ability (hold Y or triangle) and aim at the wheel to activate the elevator
  • Drop down and recall your Chakram
  • Take the stairs to the left downwards and use your Chakram again to get over the spike pit
  • Use your Chakram one more time to wall jump upwards at the end
  • Follow the stairs up to the right to enter the room with the chest
  • Interact with the chest

After you activate the chest, the walls will begin moving and activate a trap, which causes a series of rolling spikes to protrude from the walls. You need to avoid all of these successfully to open the chest, as one failure will put you back to the start.

Luckily, the traps are the same each time, so follow these steps if you are struggling:

  • From the middle, jump over the first trap coming from the right
  • Stay on the right side, let the first trap go over your head, and then jump over the second trap coming from the left
  • Head to the left of the room and use the wall to jump over the next traps coming from the right

  • Head back to the right, and jump over the next three traps coming from the left in quick succession
  • Stay on the right, and slide under the rotating trap as it comes toward you from the left
  • Stay in the middle, and jump to the left to avoid the trap coming from the same direction

  • When the trap starts to come back toward you, jump off the wall and then slide straight down it to avoid the rotating trap coming toward you

If you are successful in dodging all the traps, the chest will appear again, allowing you to open it to grab the Raw Ore

Now you can head back to Kaheva's Forge to hand in the item and complete the quest. You'll be rewarded with the Shield of Mithra amulet for your troubles.
