Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Pre-Order: What Do You Get?
Click to enlargeThankfully, Nintendo is keeping things fairly simple in its approach to pre-order bonuses. Rather than some long-winded, overly-complicated list of various versions and editions, there is one pre-order bonus for buying either Pokemon Scarlet or Pokemon Violet.
Pre-ordering either game from the digital store or a physical copy will receive a code. That code can be used in the Mystery Gift system, something that is unlocked in the early goings of the game. The code will award the player with a special Pikachu, one with a Flying Tera Type.
Tera Types are part of a new mechanic coming in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. In these games, Pokemon will be able to Terastalize, a process which gives them a crystalline look and a boost to moves in that particular Tera Type. Many Pokemon will have Tera Types that match the Pokemon, but some will have Tera Types which alter the Pokemon's type. For example, this Pikachu has a Flying Tera Type, meaning when activated it boosts Flying moves. Also, this Pikachu is capable of learning the move Fly.
This is certainly an unusual Pikachu, certainly one to get for the collectors among you. There is no extra cost for this, simply pre-order the game before release and activate your code in-game to receive it.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Pre-Order: Other Early Bonuses
Click to enlargeWhile there is only one pre-order bonus for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, there are other extra goodies you can grab if you pick one or both of these games up shortly after release. For example, the Adventure Set is a bundle you will receive should you buy either game digitally and download it before the end of February 2023. This pack contains ten Potions, five Full Heals, three Revives, three Ethers, one Rare Candy and one Nugget.
If you purchase the double pack, that is to say the bundle of both Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, you also get some extra items. To the tune of two hundred extra Pokeballs, assumably one hundred per game. For both of these extra packs, a code will be provided which can be used through the Mystery Gift system.
