The powerful Origin Forme Dialga and Origin Forme Palkia are both coming to Pokemon GO as part of the upcoming Pokemon GO Tour: Sinnoh event.

Originally appearing in Pokemon Legends: Arceus on Nintendo Switch, the Origin Formes of Legendary creatures Dialga and Palkia will bring new Adventure Effects to Pokemon GO to mark their arrival in the mobile game.

When are Origin Forme Dialga & Palkia released?

Origin Forme Dialga & Origin Forme Palkia will make their worldwide Pokemon GO debut on February 24, 2024, as part of the Global Pokemon GO Tour: Sinnoh event.

Trainers who attend the in-person Pokemon GO Tour: Sinnoh event in Los Angeles, California, will be able to encounter these powerful creatures a week early on February 17 and February 18, 2024.

How to catch Origin Forme Dialga & Palkia

The only way to catch Origin Forme Dialga and Origin Forme Palkia will be to defeat them in 5-Star Raid Battles. If you're successful, you'll get a limited amount of Premier Balls to attempt to capture them.

During the Global Pokemon GO Tour: Sinnoh event, Origin Forme Dialga and Palkia will appear in space-time anomalies (most likely reskinned 5-Star Raids) during Ancient Grove and Geothermal Lagoon habitat hours.

You'll also have a small chance to encounter both of these Pokemon in their Shiny variations.

If you're attending the in-person Los Angeles event, you'll be able to encounter these Legendaries in the last 30 minutes of each hour during event hours, but only ticketholders will have a chance of finding a Shiny.

Pokemon GO Adventure Effects explained

Pokemon GO Tour: Sinnoh will also bring Adventure Effects to the game. These are special attacks that can be used outside of battle to boost various aspects of exploration

Origin Forme Dialga has a chance to know the attack Roar Of Time, which temporarily pauses the timer on items including Incense, Daily Adventure Incense, Lucky Eggs, and Star Pieces for six minutes.

Origin Forme Palkia has a chance to know the attack Spacial Rend, which temporarily increases the distance at which you can encounter wild Pokemon for 10 minutes.

Both of these Adventure Effects will cost 5000 Stardust and 5 Candy of their respective Pokemon. You can increase the duration of the effects by using more Stardust and Candy.

Only Trainers who choose the Diamond version of Pokemon GO Tour: Sinnoh will be able to encounter Dialga with Roar of Time, while Trainers who choose Pearl will be able to encounter Palkia with Spacial Rend.
