Pokemon GO's celebration of the Lunar New Year is officially underway with the Lucky Wishes Timed Research paths. From Thursday, 19 January at 10 AM local time to Monday, 23 January at 8 PM local time, the Lunar New Year event's exclusive Timed Research: Lucky Wishes offers branching paths with particular tasks and rewards for each. The Pokemon GO Lucky Wishes Timed Research paths come in two stages. The first is exactly the same for whichever path you plan to take, presenting you with the following three initial tasks and rewards: 

• Catch 5 Pokemon - rewards with 15 x Pokeball 
• Spin 3 PokeStops or Gyms - rewards with  10 x Great Ball
• Power up Pokemon 5 times - rewards with 2 x Silver Pinap Berry

Completing the first stage will also reward you with 500 x Stardust, 500 XP, and 1 x Lucky Egg.

After completing the three tasks, you'll be then told to one choose of three Pokemon GO Lucky Wishes Timed Research paths for the second stage. Each path has the following perk for the rest of the Lunar Year 2023 event: 

• Hatch Eggs path - 0.5 x Egg Hatch Distance
• Using Daily Adventure Incense path - 2 x Daily Adventure Incense duration
• Collecting Stardust path - 2 x Stardust when catching Pokemon

For each path for stage two, there will not only be five tasks with their own rewards but there will also be additional rewards for completing your chosen path altogether.

Hatching Eggs Path

Choosing the Hatch Eggs Path will give you the following tasks and rewards:

• Catch 10 Pokemon - rewards with Bunnelby Encounter
• Catch 25 Pokemon - rewards with Magikarp Encounter
• Catch 8 different species of Pokemon - rewards with Combusken Encounter
• Hatch 3 Eggs - Darumaka (Galarian) Encounter
• Send 25 Gifts to friends - Azumarill Encounter

After completing all five tasks, you'll also be rewarded with 1 x Egg Incubator, and a Darumaka Encounter.

Using Daily Adventure Incense Path 

Choosing the Daily Adventure Incense Path will give you the following tasks and rewards:

• Catch 10 Pokemon - rewards with Bunnelby Encounter
• Catch 25 Pokemon - rewards with Magikarp Encounter
• Catch 8 different species of Pokemon - rewards with Combusken Encounter
• Hatch 3 Eggs - Darumaka (Galarian) Encounter
• Send 25 Gifts to friends - Azumarill 

After completing all five tasks, you'll also be rewarded with 10 x Golden Razz Berry, 25 x Ultra Ball, and a Darumaka Encounter.

Collecting Stardust Path

Choosing the Collecting Stardust Path will give you the following tasks and rewards:

• Catch 10 Pokemon - rewards with Bunnelby Encounter
• Catch 25 Pokemon - rewards with Magikarp Encounter
• Catch 8 different species of Pokemon - rewards with Combusken Encounter
• Earn 7,500 Stardust - Darumaka (Galarian) Encounter
• Send 25 Gifts to friends - Azumarill 

After completing all five tasks, you'll also be rewarded with 1 x Star Piece and a Darumaka Encounter.

Of course, whichever path you take for this Lunar New Year event entirely depends on your preference in the way you way. Do you prioritise farming Stardust, catching more Pokemon quickly, or hatching Eggs?
