If Zombies and Mercenaries are tearing you apart in MW3's Zombies Mode, the solution is the Three-Plate Armour Vest. The Three-Plate Armour Vest is the strongest form of defence in Modern Warfare 3, which means it's invaluable as you make headway in MWZ and encounter tougher foes. With that, let's go over exactly how to get a Three-Plate Armour Vest in the game's new and improved Zombies Mode.

As the name implies, Three-Plate Armour Vests allow you to equip three Armour Plates, greatly boosting your defence and giving you the ability to better withstand attacks from Zombies and Mercenaries. Without a Three-Plate Armour Vest, entering the Medium and High Threat Zones and completing activities like Mercenary Strongholds and Legacy Fortresses is exceptionally difficult.

The most straightforward way to get a Three-Plate Armour Vest in MW3 Zombies is to buy one at a Buy Station in a Medium or High Threat Zone. These are the areas on the Tac-Map highlighted in orange and red hues. All Buy Stations in Medium and High Threat Zones stock Three-Plate Armour Vests.

The problem with purchasing a Three-Plate Armour Vest is that it's tied with the Large Rucksack and Juggernaut as the most expensive item in all of Zombies Mode. Priced at 10,000 Essence, you will need to complete a bunch of Contracts and slay a ton of Zombies to afford a Three-Plate Armour Vest.

If buying the Three-Plate Armour Vest is out of your budget, there is another way to get this high-tier Armour Vest. However, it requires that you venture out and infiltrate a Mercenary Stronghold.

Before you can enter a Mercenary Stronghold, you must acquire a Mercenary Stronghold Key. You can get a Mercenary Stronghold Key from a Buy Station for 2,000 Essence or by clearing out a Mercenary Camp.

After you get a hold of a Mercenary Stronghold Key, find a Mercenary Stronghold and begin your assault. Take care of all the Mercenaries, then drill into the safe that's situated somewhere inside the Mercenary Stronghold. This safe will always have a Three-Plate Armour Vest stashed in it!

If you want to progress in MW3 Zombies, you're going to eventually need a Three-Plate Armour Vest. They aren't easy to get, but the protection Three-Plate Armour Vests offer makes procuring one a worthy investment. And since you get to keep all your stuff as long as you don't die or fail to exfil, a single Three-Plate Armour Vest could last you quite some time if you take care of it!
