The Mortal Kombat 1 special editions offer more for die-hard fans of the series, but it isn’t always straightforward to actually understand what is included in the Standard, Premium, and Kollector's editions.

Mortal Kombat 1 is arriving later this year and sees the series go through its second reboot in the last 15 years. After the events of Mortal Kombat 11, the status quo has completely changed and this new, fresh version of the world is offering plenty of new iterations of beloved characters from the series like Reptile, Liu Kang and Mileena.

All of the Mortal Kombat 1 editions include a variety of different goodies for fans to enjoy, so here is everything you can get if you purchase either the Standard, Premium or Kollector’s Edition.

What is the Mortal Kombat 1 pre-order bonus?

Regardless of which version of the game you buy, if you pre-order the game you will get Shang Tsung as part of the package. Shang Tsung is often one of the main villains of the series, known for stealing other people's souls.

Most recently, he was the main antagonist for the events of the Mortal Kombat 11 Aftermath DLC. Not a lot is known about Shang Tsung in the game so far, or what this version of the character is like, but it looks as though he will be the main antagonist once more.

There are no additional rewards from simply purchasing the Standard Edition of Mortal Kombat 1. If you do pre-order, you will also get the sorcerer Shang Tsung, but otherwise, there are no other goodies or extras on offer with this edition of the popular fighting game.

What’s in the Mortal Kombat 1 Premium Edition?

Here is a complete list of everything that is included in the Mortal Kombat 1 Premium Edition:

  • 1250 Dragon Krystals (in-game currency)
  • Early access starting Sept. 14
  • Early access to DLC characters
  • Kombat Pack:
    • 5 new Kameo characters
    • 6 new playable Characters
    • Jean-Claude Van Damme skin for Johnny Cage

If you’re a big Mortal Kombat 1 fan, and you know you’re going to play a lot of the game, this edition is for you.

What’s in the Mortal Kombat 1 Kollector’s Edition?

The Mortal Kombat 1 Kollector's Edition will include all of the bonuses of the previous two editions, while also bundling in a few physical gifts that any dedicated fan of the series will definitely want to grab:

  • 2700 Dragon Krystals (in-game currency)
  • Exclusive limited-edition Liu Kang in-game colour variant
  • Exclusive steel case
  • Limited edition COARSE art prints
  • Liu Kang sculpture

That is all there is to know about each edition of Mortal Kombat 1 before it releases later this year. There should be something on offer for all fans, even if it is simply pre-ordering the game and earning Shang Tsung.
