The Magneto Power Gauntlets are the latest weapon to be added to Fortnite in Chapter 5 Season 3, and they pack a serious punch.

Below, I’ll walk you through exactly how to get these gauntlets for yourself and explain all the powers they bestow you with.

Where to find Magento Power Gauntlets

You can find this new weapon as Rare floor loot across the Fortnite map. Continue to open chests and search buildings, and you should come across a pair of them naturally - there’s no requirement to complete any challenges.

I managed to find a pair very quickly after landing at the Grand Glacier POI. They were in a chest on the second floor of the mansion. You can try and find a pair for yourself there, but remember that the loot in Fortnite is randomised. You can also try looking in the Weapon X Lab, as there are a couple of chests in there.

If you’re struggling to find a pair of the gauntlets, you can also purchase them from the Wastelander Magneto NPC for 400 Gold. He’s located at Brawler’s Battleground.

The main attack of these gauntlets pulls together a ball of metal shards and fires them as a projectile towards enemies. This attack takes a small while to charge up and throw, but the damage area is quite large. I found that I was able to take out grouped-up enemies very easily with a few shots of this weapon.

The gauntlets have unlimited ammo, but you have a limit of five shots at any one time. You’ll need to wait for the shots to recharge after firing, which takes a few seconds.

There’s also a shield function, which collects metal shards to create a barrier in front of you. This is perfect for blocking incoming fire during intense firefights.

Lastly, equipping the Magento Power Gauntlets makes you able to jump higher, and also glide a little while using them to block or attack. I was able to glide fairly long distances when firing the gauntlets, which kept me nimble when entering fights.

Overall, these new gauntlets are incredibly strong. I won a game with them on my first try, which says a lot given my lack of skill at Fortnite! Pair these with the new Magneto skin, and live out your ultimate X-Men fantasy.
