How to visit Crackshot's Cabin when the floating loot island appears in Fortnite
It's that time of year again, and Crackshot's Cabin is back in Fortnite. This year, though, its location is unstable, and finding it in Fortnite is more challenging than ever. This primer details where to find and how to visit Crackshot's Cabin when the floating loot island appears in the free-to-play battle royale from Epic Games.
Where is Crackshot's Cabin?
Click to enlargeSadly, the gift-filled Winterfest Lodge from prior years isn't accessible in Winterfest 2023, but you can still visit the nostalgic Crackshot's Cabin in-game on Fortnite. However, Crackshot's Cabin isn't bound to one particular spot on the Island, making it rather difficult to stop by. Instead, you'll find Crackshot's Cabin atop the floating loot island that emerges from a rift toward the end of the match in Battle Royale and Zero Build.
How to visit Crackshot's Cabin when the floating loot island appears
Click to enlargeKnowing where Crackshot's Cabin is situated is one thing, but you still need to actually visit it to complete the associated Winterfest Quest! You won't be able to venture to Crackshot's Cabin until the floating loot island appears, which doesn't happen until late in a match of Battle Royale or Zero Build.
Immediately after the third storm circle finishes shrinking, the floating loot island will materialise somewhere randomly on the map. To locate it, listen for the noise that pops as the floating island starts to rift into our reality. Alternatively, you can look around for the pinged icon of the floating island or check the in-game map for a symbol of a rift.
As soon as the floating loot island comes into view, hightail it over there, preferably in a vehicle or in the air via a Launch Pad. When you get under it, you can use one of the rifts scattered around the area or an ascender to get to the top.
Touch down on the floating loot island, and you'll instantly get credit for visiting Crackshot's Cabin and completing the corresponding Winterfest Quest. While you're there, feel free to tour Crackshot's Cabin and loot all the Holiday Presents inside! Be careful, though, because the floating loot island is always highly contested, and even more so now that you can find Crackshot's Cabin on top of it.
So, the next time the floating loot island appears, make sure you visit it and check out Crackshot's Cabin! Not only will you earn some XP, but you'll be one step closer to unlocking the Snowglobe Smasher Pickaxe.
