How to find Oathbound Chests in Fortnite
One of the major aspects of Fortnite is looting, and with the introduction of Chapter 4, tons of new items are available across the map. Every major update brings new weapons and items to use which drastically shift the dynamic of battle, and one of the more interesting additions in the latest chapter is Oathbound Chests and Items.
As with any season, new challenges await players jumping in, and Oathbound Chests are tied to those, but more specifically, the Oathbound items that are contained inside of them.
You'll need to grab an array of these if you're hoping to complete this week's challenges, or even damage them to receive hard drives.

Where are the Oathbound Chests in Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 1?
Oathbound Chests are fantastic ways to grab some decent loot from the offset. You’ll spot them easily with their white design and gold trimmings. You’ll gain some powerful weapons, such as the newly added Shockwave Hammer, and gain an edge in battle fairly early on.
Inside them is also where you'll find Oathbound items such as the Falcon Scout. While it's entirely possible to find this in other locations randomly, it's almost always a guarantee an Oathbound chest will drop the desired item needed to advance the challenge.
If you want to find these, they’re found in medieval-themed areas of the Fortnite Chapter 4 map. This includes the following locations:
- The Citadel
- Anvil Square
- Shattered Slabs

For one of the latest quests, you’ll need to collect an abundance of Oathbound items, which may prove challenging in one match of Fortnite.
These chests, at the time of writing, are fairly hot spots in the map, so you may find quite a few other players dropping in the area.

How to damage Oathbound chests in Fortnite
Click to enlargeAs part of various quests in Fortnite, you may be tasked to damage these Oathbound Chests in the hopes of receiving hard drives. It's an unusual request, but thankfully, one that has an incredibly easy solution.
In order to damage them, simply use your pickaxe or weapon as you would against an enemy to cause damage. Eventually, the hard drives will drop, allowing you to continue with your quest.
