Diablo 4 beta release date & platforms

Due to the official launch coming up on June 6 2023, the beta release date is actually very soon. Diablo 4 is the latest entry in the legendary action RPG series, and Blizzard has previously confirmed that players will get to take place in a beta period before the official release. With that, let's get into the official Diablo 4 beta release date.

When does the beta launch?

The Diablo 4 beta will be first released on Friday, 17 March 2023, and will end on Sunday, 19 March 2023. As confirmed by game director Joe Shely at IGN FanFest, the earlier Diablo 4 beta release date from 17 March will be a closed beta for early-access pre-orders.

However, the open beta will come the week after. To be specific, the open Diablo 4 beta release date will be Friday, 24 March 2023 to start, and will end on Sunday, 26 March 2023.

As to what will actually be featured in the beta, Shely went on in the FanFest interview to say that it will provide "a significant look at the game" with both the prologue and first act of Diablo 4 taking place in the zone, "Fractured Peaks". Not only will all characters be able to progress up to Level 25, but all main quests and side quests will be available to play as well. 

Although players might be excited to hear this confirmed Diablo 4 beta release date, what all should be aware of going into it, is the specifics about progression. Whilst closed beta players can carry over their progress into the open beta a week later, progress from either beta cannot be carried over to the full game released on 6 June.

What platforms will the Diablo 4 beta be on?

If you were hoping to use the beta to get a head start in the final game, the Diablo 4 beta will be available on all platforms to which the full game will be released: PS5, PS4, PC, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One.
