The Destiny 2 Season 18 raid is imminently on the way, and we finally know for certain which raid it is. Destiny 2 has expanded the returning content from the original game to bringing back Destiny raids in D2. We know the raid coming in Season 18 will be a remaster of one of the D1 raids, and now we know which one it is, we are very excited to check it out. Here is everything we know so far about the Destiny 2 Season 18 raid.

we knew that to learn about this returning raid, we would have to wait until the Destiny 2 Showcase. This event was Bungie's way of showing off what is coming in the near and further future. We learned about Lightfall, about the new Strand subclass, and about this new season, the Season of Plunder. We also learned exactly which raid is coming back, and all of this happened three days before the new raid launches on August 26th.

This one particular week is going to be a hectic one for Destiny 2 fans, but certainly an exciting one. Only having three days to prepare for a new raid feels a bit unfair, but there is no increase to the level cap, and Bungie is prepared for players to go into this raid already knowledgeable, as it is a returning raid.

  • Bungie have entered into a new deal with Epic Games, bringing us the unprecedented Fortnite x Destiny 2 crossover.

After the Vault of Glass, which was brought forward to Destiny 2 last year, there are three more raids that could potentially be coming to D2 on August 26th. Those raids are Crota's End, King's Fall, and Wrath of the Machine. Crota's End had been ruled out as too short and too easy, so it came down to either King's Fall or Wrath of the Machine.

King's Fall seemed the obvious choice, as Bungie has said they want to bring old content back when it is relevant to current content. We just spent most of this year taking down one of the Hive gods, why not bring back one we already killed so we can kill him all over again?

It is unknown yet whether this raid taking place nowadays will be canonical, if Oryx will make a return or if this is simply a return to the dreadnought for old time's sake. Regardless of the lore explanation, taking the fight to the Taken King once again is a fun and intriguing prospect.

With the Vault of Glass, Bungie made some slight tweaks to bring it more in line with the current game, but kept the raid largely the same. Some mechanics were altered, generally made more difficult to keep up with the modern Guardian. It is a safe bet that the same will be done with King's Fall, but how much will be changed is yet to be seen.

That is everything we know so far about the Destiny 2 Season 18 raid. For more raiding goodness, check out our Destiny 2 Vow of the Disciple raid guide and walkthrough.
