If you can believe it, Dead by Daylight is turning 8 years old, and of course, that means there are plenty of reveals to be had in its anniversary stream that fans of the iconic horror pantheon will be just dying to discover.

From the previously teased Dungeons & Dragons Chapter to updates on the expanded universe of games like The Casting of Frank Stone, this Anniversary is not one to miss and full to bursting with new and exciting updates.

You read that right, Dungeons & Dragons is this year’s Anniversary chapter. After last year’s original Chapter, End Transmission introduced The Singularity and Gabriel Soma to the game, this year we’ve got a licensed Chapter, and it’s a big one.

With a brand new map, a Bardic Survivor and the legendary Vecna as a Killer, you’ll undoubtedly be hooked on the magical misadventures this dark fantasy will bring. Let's hope our brave Survivors and terrifying Killers are braced for this update.

2v8 mode is FINALLY in DbD

Perhaps one of the most demanded game modes is finally making its way into DbD. The 2v8 game mode differs from the modifiers we’ve seen in the past in that it is a fully-fledged experience that will be a permanent addition to the game.

In these early days, players will be able to use nearly any Survivor, but for now, will be limited to the free Killers available in the base game. Those being:

  • The Trapper
  • The Hillbilly
  • The Wraith
  • The Nurse
  • The Huntress

In these modes, you won't be able to bring in any Perks with you, and Killers can cage you up like Pyramid Head in the base game, so be on your toes, and watch out for all those swirling hatchets.

The Casting of Frank Stone and Project T

Alongside a slew of new updates coming to the core Dead by Daylight game, we also saw some updates about the spin-off titles looking to expand on the DbD universe: The Casting of Frank Stone and Project T.

The Casting of Frank Stone

The new trailer for The Casting of Frank Stone particularly shows some of the new world that Supermassive Games has created alongside Behaviour’s DbD backdrop. Did you spot that familiar mask? Only time will tell just how many branching paths we'll be able to take.

Project T

Project T, on the other hand, is a session-based PvE action horror that feels worlds away from its progenitors. While still in the early stages, we got a sneak peek of what's to come, including some spooky maps and terrifying encounters.

In an attempt to make this a more community-active experience, players will be able to join the Insider Program to receive news, take part in playtests and send in their feedback.

What the Fog is a brand new DbD experience

With roguelites being exceptionally popular right now, it looks like Dead by Daylight is also getting in on the action in their two-player co-op game, What the Fog.

Taking on the role of Claudette, Dwight or Feng Min, these Survivors have been sucked into a mysterious game where they’ll have to run, jump and shoot their way through hordes of monsters and bosses to make it out alive. These Survivors can’t catch a break, huh?

Castlevania is coming to DbD

Finally, with all these huge announcements, we’re left with one final teaser of some upcoming content: Castlevania is on the way into Dead by Daylight. While we do not have a lot of details just yet, it’ll undoubtedly whet the appetite of DbD players looking to sink their teeth into this future Chapter (myself included).
