The Cyberpunk 2077 max perk points total has changed due to update 2.0, as have all of the skills and perks. Cyberpunk 2077 has gone through a major overhaul between update 2.0 and the release of Phantom Liberty.

Perk points are still used to unlock new perks, but the amount of points in the game has increased and the perks themselves are completely different. So, here is a rundown of the new maximum perk points in Cyberpunk 2077, and how the new skill system works.

If you reach the highest level in Cyberpunk 2077 and own Phantom Liberty, you should end up with the max perk points of 80. If you do not own Phantom Liberty, the maximum perk points you can achieve is 70.

The maximum perk points that you can gain during the story will change based on your attribute spread. You start with seven perk points and gain a perk point each time you level up.

You can also acquire bonus perks for hitting thresholds as you level up your individual skills. Previously, these skills were limited by your attribute levels, but that has changed in the 2.0 update.

Lastly, there are also consumable items called Perk Shards which can be found around the map, or earned as rewards for side jobs or activities. There are a total of nine of these in the game, so finding them should be a priority when levelling your character.

Much has changed with the perks and skills of Cyberpunk 2077 in the latest 2.0 update, as skills have been changed to their own progression system outside of the attributes screen.

The five new skills found in Cyberpunk 2077 are:

  • Headhunter
  • Netrunner
  • Shinobi
  • Solo
  • Engineer

These skills work much like they did in the previous version of the game, but now you progress these skills by playing in those specific ways. For example, your Headhunter skill is increased by using precision weapons, Shinobi is increased by using melee weapons, and Solo is your tank skill that increases in close-range combat.

Where the new skills fundamentally change from the old, is that they are no longer limited by your attributes. Your attribute levels are still limited by your overall level, but these skills are levelled up separately. As such, you can reach the maximum level of 60 for all of these skills at once.

This is great news for our perks, as previously there were perk points locked behind our inability to max out all of our skills. Now, players can level up each of their skills by employing various playstyles and reach the new and much higher max perk point limit.

That is it for our breakdown of perk points in Cyberpunk 2077 and the maximum you can have after the 2.0 update. For more, head to our Cyberpunk 2077 homepage for guides like the Cyberpunk 2077 vehicle list or Cyberpunk 2077 iconic weapons.
