How to open the cellar secret door for the 'Search the Cellar' quest in Baldur's Gate 3
The secret cellar door in Baldur's Gate 3 is a secret for a reason and can be difficult to find. Baldur's Gate 3 has a quest called Search the Cellar in which the player must find a hidden door, and it is hidden very well.
The cellar's secret door isn't really hard to find, but figuring out how to open it is one of the trickier mysteries in the game. Here is how to open the cellar secret door in Baldur's Gate 3.
How to open the secret cellar door
Once you are inside the cellar, start exploring. There are useful items scattered around, so pick up anything and everything. You'll notice an auspicious-looking display cabinet with scratch marks on the floor beside it. The door, as you might imagine, is behind it. However, you cannot just push it out of the way.
Click to enlargeIn order to move the fancy display cabinet, look to the boxes on the floor to the left. Move them or destroy them, and you will find a lever on the wall behind them. Pull the lever and the cabinet will move, revealing the doorway. Head on through to find the rest of the contents of the cellar and complete the quest.
How to start the Search the Cellar quest
Click to enlargeThe quest begins in the Blighted Village during Act 1. If you go down to the bottom of the well and explore the cave, you will find a book, an Apprentice's Journal. Read it to learn about this apprentice, their master, and a cellar full of important items.
Return to the surface and you will see the cellar marked on your map, on the southern side of the Blighted Village. If you do not see it on your map, go to your quests, select Search the Cellar, and then press the Show on Map button at the bottom of the screen.
Head to the marked location, then find the door to the cellar in the southwest of the building.
