Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora might be a single-player title at heart, but did you know you can play almost the whole game in co-op with a friend? That’s right - the open world of Pandora and the quests within it can be played in co-op with one other Na’Vi, but you’ll need to progress a little way through the game before you can access the option.

Here’s what you need to do to play co-op in Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora.

When does co-op unlock?

To unlock co-op, you’ll need a play a good chunk of the game’s main campaign first. Keep playing until a little way after you’ve seen the title sequence and completed the quest called ‘The Aranahe Clan’.

Once you’ve finished introducing yourself to the clan and left the Hometree, you should see a small notification appear on the left side of the screen that tells you co-op mode is now available to use.

Once you’ve unlocked the ability to invite friends into your game, you can do so by pressing the pause button and selecting the ‘Co-op’ menu.

Here, you can choose someone from your friends list to invite them into your game world. Bear in mind that both players will need to own a copy of the game, and they’ll both need to have completed ‘The Aranahe Clan’ quest.

  • Once you’ve invited a friend to your game, they will appear in your world as another Na’Vi character. You can now explore Pandora and complete quests together
  • However, quest completion and collectables will only persist on the save file of the host
  • If you’re the person joining a friend, you won’t see any of the progress reflected in your save file

Is Avatar: Fronters of Pandora crossplay?

Yes, Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora is crossplay. This means that you can invite other players into your game, no matter whether they’re on PlayStation, Xbox, or PC.

To invite someone from another platform into your game, you’ll just need to add them on Ubisoft Connect and invite them through there.

Alternatively, you can disable crossplay if you’d rather only play with people on your own platform.
