Winners In Arms: Atlanta FaZe Cements Dynasty Status With CDL World Championships Victory

Atlanta FaZe has cemented themselves as a "dynasty" in Call of Duty esports after their CDL 2021 World Championships victory.

The roster of Tyler "aBeZy" Pharris, Alex "Arcitys" Sanderson, McArthur "Cellium" Jovel, and Chris "Simp" Lehr have been crowned as the world champions after an incredible eight-round final versus the all-European roster of Toronto Ultra, taking the fixture 5-3 and the rings that come with it.

Despite a fierce comeback attempt from Ultra, who themselves secured their fifth top-three finish of the season, FaZe managed to stay strong and use their favourable abilities on Hardpoint to close out the series before Ultra could chain together results on the slower, more calculated game modes where they have shone all year round.

With the victory, FaZe earned a gargantuan $1.2million, a customised CDL Champs bomber jacket and Nike Jordans, a winner's ring, and the stunning obsidian-esque CDL trophy.

After being immortalised in-game too, with a fireworks display above Stadium in Warzone, FaZe have now been labelled as a "dynasty" team in Call of Duty esports.

Joining the elite club alongside the compLexity/Evil Geniuses side of April 2013 to November 2014, and the OpTic Gaming roster between January 2015 and August 2017, the Atlanta FaZe/eUnited boys have now been held in the regards as one of the best three rosters in Call of Duty history.

Prior to joining FaZe, the trio of aBeZy, Arcitys, and Simp enjoyed their array of success in July 2019, as part of eUnited. The rising stars won their first event together at the CWL Pro League Playoffs, before taking home the World Championships a month later - securing their first ring together.

Despite Arcitys joining Chicago Huntsmen, FaZe paired the Tiny Terrors with Cellium in Modern Warfare. Together, the organisation lit up the inaugural CDL season, winning the regular season and acquiring two championship wins in the progress.

FaZe didn't quite top the season off with a gold medal, although a further five second-placed finishes meant that in the nine series throughout the year, FaZe made the final in all but two of them, becoming the most dominant team of the year.

With Arcitys returning to the core roster alongside the SMG duo and Cellium for the Black Ops Cold War season, FaZe upped their tally of championships by winning three of five Majors throughout the year, capped by another World Championship win. 

With a core of at least three main players at one time (aBeZy, Simp, Arcitys/Cellium) the eUnited to Atlanta FaZe roster between August 2018 to the present day have won nine major championships, including two rings, and can now stake their claim as one of the best teams in Call of Duty history.

A true dynasty, and it is not ending any time soon.
