Warzone fans are already flaming the laser vision superpower

Warzone 2 kicked life off with a lot of high hopes. The developers promised more realism and tactics in a game that had previously seen King Kong smash through volcanic lava streams while enjoying a tickle of his nuts.

But eight months after launch, the mil-sim characters are once again becoming a rarity in Warzone. More and more ambitious Call of Duty crossovers are being deployed, stretching realism to its limits.

With the arrival of The Boys in Warzone comes a range of Field Upgrades serving as superpowers, but Call of Duty fans are already less than impressed by the "realistic" laser vision ability.

Homelander's field upgrade brings laser vision to Warzone

As part of the crossover, four unique superpowers will be added to reflect their character's skill set in the TV series. Found in all Warzone maps (except in Ranked), the Temp V Field Upgrade will grant the wannabe-Supe a randomly-selected ability from the four available upgrades.

These powers include Charge Jump, Electric Shockwave, Teleport, and Laser Vision. The latter ability pays homage to Homelander and includes, "Levitating and firing a laser beam that sears through enemy targets in whatever direction they are looking."

With the Laser Vision ability appearing to be the most eccentric of the bunch, disgruntled Warzone fans have already begun flaming the upgrade on social media - claiming that realism is completely and utterly out of the question now.

"Makes sense, they have been using laser vision in the military for many years now," one fan joked. "Please wake me up when this event is over," added another.

Other players now want the developers to backtrack on their realism stance that crippled movement in Modern Warfare 2. "I see y'all can add this in a realistic game but can u add fast and speed up movement now," said someone.

Another concluded, "[You] Can't bunny hop or do any advanced movement because they want realism..." The field upgrade almost appears to serve like Goku in Fortnite and will likely be a stab in the heart for those Mil-Sim lovers.
