While the excitement for Modern Warfare 3 is at an all-time high for multiplayer fans, the Warzone 2 community is growing more and more frustrated with long-standing unsolved issues. In particular, the abundance of hackers that are plaguing both standard matches and the Ranked ladder.

Throughout Season 5, the problem appears to be getting worse in Warzone 2, leaving fans confused about why the RICOCHET anti-cheat isn't doing its job. With every match apparently being "full of cheaters," it's becoming almost impossible to compete - pushing them away from the game as a whole.

Warzone 2 fans are tired of matches being 'full of cheaters'

Taking to the CODWarzone subreddit, user u/Boligno decided to ask the rest of the community whether they thought lobbies had become "harder" in Season 5.

In response, a lot blamed the more difficult matches on a "big increase in cheaters and Smurfs," claiming that more bad actors are somehow slipping through the crackers.

"In non-ranked the cheaters are also f**king everywhere, nearly every game we play there’s at least 1 super sketchy player," said one user, with another even claiming, "Cheaters on a rampage currently in Ranked."

It's hard to know why hackers are on the rise in Season 5, but it may be to do with third-party software becoming more advanced. Cheat providers are always looking for new ways to bypass RICOCHET, which means the devs are constantly playing catchup.

When will the RICOCHET anti-cheat be improved again?

Although no immediate RICOCHET enhancements are on the cards, Activision has confirmed that anti-cheat improvements will be coming alongside MW3 on November 10 in a recent blog.

"New additions to Ricochet Anti-Cheat as well as new anti-toxicity plans to continue to deliver a fun, fair and welcoming online experience for all players." While this is promising news, it doesn't do anything to address the huge amount of hackers affecting players right now.

Fingers crossed that the devs have something in mind to target the cheaters in Season 5, as it's clear the community is losing its patience.
