Warzone 2 devs respond to 'god awful' FPS drops in Season 4 Reloaded

As one of four Field Upgrade superpowers that celebrate The Boys crossover in Warzone and Modern Warfare 2, the Electric Shockwave (designed to honour Starlight) creates a wave of EMPs around the player, like the old "Electric Cherry" Zombies perk but ten times as strong.

In fact, it's so strong that the characters' EMP appears to have destabilised the Call of Duty engine in Season 4 Reloaded, as massive FPS drops are plaguing the playing experience of Warzone 2 fans.

With huge spikes of lag occurring, the developers have now taken to social media to reveal their stance on the issues.

PC players have become the heart and soul of the Warzone 2 community, but as superheroes take over the battle royale maps, players have faced broken performances, branding it as "god awful".

Taking to social media, a string of players have complained about FPS drops, with one poster saying, "I've only played Vondel so far and I'm getting FPS in the 40s and 30s. I was getting 70 FPS before the update. I've set my game on the lowest graphical settings possible and still get horrid FPS."

Another fan added, "I don't know how Activision does this each update, but the framerate keeps getting worse every single update. And this latest update on my system has dropped the fps by 45 to 50% with voice chat set to party only."

This isn't the only time that the performance rates have been less than reliable, as the Call of Duty Twitter account even admitted that the game's servers aren't up to snuff..

But this time, the complaints haven't fallen on deaf ears, as the Call of Duty devs have now responded on Twitter.

Taking to social media, Infinity Ward said that it is actively investigating reports of reduced performance, and added it to its official Trello board of "Global Known Issues",

The issue joins a wealth of other problems, including advice that "Players who have not updated their GPU drivers to the latest version should do so," as this will help to "drastically" limit crashes on PC, while some have suggested reinstalling shaders has helped.

Many fans still feel aggrieved though, and claimed that the devs clearly don't test the performance after every update, instead using the players as guinea pigs.

With hope, Infinity Ward will release a patch in the coming days, allowing us all to enjoy some laser-busting action.
