Warzone 2 Season 4 Reloaded is scheduled to arrive on July 12 and with it comes the MX Guardian shotgun, three The Boys character Operators, and of course, Vondel's very own Gulag.

However, it's the Temp V Field Upgrade that's getting the most attention as it's arming players with superpowers to utilise on the battlefield. Inspired by The Boys, competitors equipped with this Field Upgrade will be granted one of four random superpowers that have the potential to be immensely strong.

While some of the community are unbelievably excited to test out the new feature, others believe this doesn't fit Call of Duty and believe the game is turning into Fortnite.

According to the Season 4 Reloaded blog, the Temp V Field Upgrade can be consumed to grant you "one of four random superpowers." Following this, "once you use Temp V, you’re then free to activate this power whenever you wish."

It's worth noting that if you're eliminated from combat before activating the power, it will be lost upon death.

Here's a full description of the four superpowers the Temp V Field Upgrade could potentially grant you:

  • Charge Jump – Propels you across the map in "leaps & bounds" while taking no fall damage, as well as dealing splash damage to opponents in your landing spot radius.
  • Electric Shockwave – Sends a powerful "electrical explosion" that injures Operators and AI opponents. This ability also destroys vehicles and equipment, making it an EMP as well.
  • Laser Vision: Upon activation, you'll levitate and fire a laser beam that sears through enemy targets.
  • Teleport: Teleports you a short distance in whatever direction you're facing.

Temp V will be accessible in all Warzone 2 playlists except Ranked, including DMZ but the devs have noted it will be much rarer in the extraction game mode. It's also made clear in the blog that this is temporary, so make the most of it while it lasts from July 12 onwards.

Warzone 2 fans sceptical about "Fortnite" style superpowers

Popular Call of Duty account CharlieINTEL tweeted out all of the details surrounding the Temp V Field Upgrade, and not everyone is pleased with the new feature inspired by The Boys.

One frustrated player argued: "They gotta be trolling us at this point" and another clearly isn't happy with the direction CoD is going, making the joke that "Fortnite called, they want their designers back."

Others are just convinced this is going to "break the game" and that Call of Duty has abandoned any kind of realism with their game design. A lot of the community has pointed this out as a problem with the game's cosmetics as well, including the new cat Operators.

Of course, there is certainly excitement for the Temp V from a portion of the community, so we'll just have to see how much of an impact these superpowers have on the game.
