Shroud Has Strong Opinions About New VALORANT Map Breeze
The long wait for a new VALORANT map has been ended, as Breeze's ambitious design was concocted and fed to the starving player base.
Raze, Jett, and the rest of the agent lineup have been whisked away on a vocational island, although it's no surprise that the troublesome bunch couldn't pop on their shades and kickback. Rather, the blood-lustful assembly has taken over the desolate paradise and turned it into a 5v5 battlefield with large open planes and some tight-knit angles.
Whilst many players are getting to grips with the indifferent gameplay that it offers, former Counter-Strike Global Offensive (CS:GO) professional and content superstar Michael "Shroud" Grzesiek has already made some bold claims.
Taking to YouTube, the 26-year-old Canadian has claimed that Breeze is "the best map they’ve ever made".
Click to enlargeWhilst demonstrating some exciting skills on the map, the streamer delved into the reason behind his splitting comments. He said "The synergy between all the characters and s**t is huge. You don’t just have one smoke blocking a hallway, and you’re good to go. You need to work together [and] use real utility to take a site.”
Despite his love for the map, Shroud did admit that Breeze was tailored for the professional and high-calibre tier of players, rather than the casuals. With much more cohesion needed to take sites rather than allowing one rogue slayer to dominate, Shroud added "I think all the top players are going to love it, and everyone else is going to hate it. It’s a little worrisome because I think it’s the best map they’ve ever made. So, if it gets bad feedback, then they might not ever make a map like it again.”
As for the pro scene, Breeze will debut at the first international LAN of the year, as Riot Games confirmed that the map will be playable by teams at the VALORANT Champions Tour Masters in Reykjavik, Iceland.
The decision has come with some slight pushback, with the likes of recently qualified Version1 IGL, Anthony "vanity" Malaspina, saying "I love new maps but right before a tournament like this is questionable".
Overall, the map has received a wealth of positive comments from all corners of VALORANT's community and will look to be a valued map in the game.
