Shroud Hits Out At ‘Uncomfortable’ VALORANT Feature
Having announced his official retirement from professional Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO) back in 2018, Michael "shroud" Grzesiek has since become a Twitch phenomenon, excelling at near enough every title that he gets his hands on.
During his CS career, Shroud notched up over $200,000 in prize money, most notably with a victory as part of Cloud9 at the ESL Pro League Finals. As one of the most gifted FPS players in the world, it's no surprise that when he loads up VALORANT on stream that more than 40,000 viewers jump on and watch each day.
However, compared to the game that saw Shroud rise to fame, he claims that VALORANT has one rather "uncomfortable" feature which is pretty crucial to the game.
Aiming...
After showcasing some talent with Skye on his latest YouTube upload, Shroud was heard taking a pop at the aiming on VALORANT. Shortly after missing a bullet to secure a nasty double kill, he stated: "Dude, in this game you've gotta aim so high," he said between rounds, "it's uncomfortable."
The relevant clip starts at 5:55.
Instantly comparing the mechanics to those he is used to, Shroud added: "in CS, you aim much lower."
Later in the video, Shroud again realised that he was "shooting too low again man, It's like I was shooting her hips. I thought I was shooting good and that the head level was there, but it was not at all."
Despite the slight differences, many of Shroud's skill set has been transferred, evident by playing alongside 100 Thieves' Spencer "Hiko" Martin in ranked.
The mechanics of VALORANT have recently been under criticism from the professional community in terms of the run and gun tactic that gives advantages to more aggressive players. Riot has since commented by saying that fixes will be coming in the future, although it will be unlikely that the hitbox registries will be adapted for Shroud.
