Shroud Admits He's Too Lazy To Become A Pro In VALORANT
Prior to taking on the streaming world and signing mutli-million dollar deals with Mixer and Twitch, Michael "Shroud" Grzesiek was a professional Counter-Strike: Global Offensive dynamo, and whilst he's teased ventures back into esports, he's now confessed that he's "too lazy" to make a return.
The former professional has teased reigniting his love affair with esports a few times over the years, especially with the development of Riot Games' VALORANT.
Shroud Claims He's Too Lazy For Pro VALORANT - Prefers New World
The streamer now works closely alongside Riot Games, often co-streaming the VALORANT Champions Tour games, even pulling in more viewers on his stream than the official broadcast.
During the most recent round of fixtures at the pinnacle Champions event, Shroud was quizzed on kickstarting a professional career in VALORANT, although they were instantly shut down. After praising VALORANT for playing much better online than CS (compared to the LAN experience), he was soon questioned about whether he could make a VALORANT LAN...
"Um, too much work and I’m lazy. I don’t know. Listen, if I was a pro I couldn’t play New World and that would p**s me off," he said.
Will Shroud Ever Go Pro Again?
Recently, Shroud came out of retirement in the VCT Stage 2 qualifiers, teaming with other CS veterans such as Sean "Sgares" Gares, Jordan "n0thing" Gilbert, and Quan "dicey" Tran. However, their story was rather short-lived, claiming that it was "just for fun", before being eliminated before the Challengers rounds.
It now appears that he is too committed to streaming, especially with a burning desire to play open world titles such as Amazon's New World and World of Warcraft.
According to Shroud himself though, esports professionals could easily compete until 50 years old, so there's hope yet that we'll see him appear on a LAN stage again.
