After its immeasurable success, Elden Ring has been out of the gaming conversation for a moment. And to be honest, it's good to let the rest of the gaming industry breathe for a while.

After all, FromSoftware has turned its attention to Armored Core VI as its next title, and many new and existing fans are waiting to see what the team has hidden up its sleeves after the roaring success that Elden Ring created. But, that doesn't mean that the Lands Between are to be left untouched.

Elden Ring's Shadow of the Erdtree DLC is officially on its way, and after its nonchalant reveal on Twitter, players can't wait to see what's in store for the next narrative addition for Elden Ring. But once upon a time, it wouldn't have ended there.

Elden Ring reportedly had a second DLC

One insider has claimed that Elden Ring almost had more DLCs than we've been told.  A new report from noted Soulsborne expert Lance McDonald has revealed that the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC was once being developed as multiple DLC projects. Then, FromSoftware decided to merge the pair into a larger experience.

A conversation that the expert had in Discord has been shared to the GamingLeaksandRumours subreddit, which suggests FromSoftware's initial plans was to introduce a season pass. This apparently would've included Colosseums - but as it was released into the game for free, it's clear that this concept is long gone.

It's nice to know that we're getting more bang for our buck with Elden Ring, and given that the team released Colosseums for nothing, it's clear that FromSoftware cares about giving back to the amazing community of the game.

Could we see more Elden Ring DLCs?

Of course, this news has revealed that once upon a time, we were set to get two different DLC packs that would come together to make the sum of Shadow of the Erdtree that is yet to come - but fans are still curious about the idea of more DLC afterwards.

We don't know anything about a second Elden Ring DLC just yet, but it wouldn't be a surprise to see FromSoftware introduce more story content if Shadow of the Erdtree does well. The team will certainly take some time to ensure it's perfect, but the idea isn't off the table just yet. Bring it on.
