Remedy Entertainment sparks Alan Wake 2 DLC rumours following social rebrand

Remedy Entertainment has rebranded its social media platforms as Poison Pill Entertainment, suggesting it may make an announcement about the long-awaited Alan Wake 2 DLC.

The game, which launched toward the end of 2023, was one of our favourites last year and scooped plenty of awards for the studio.

Remedy rebrand suggests Alan Wake DLC reveal is near

In a post tagging the Alan Wake account on X (formerly Twitter), the Remedy Games account shared a new logo for "Poison Pill Entertainment" and the words "Since 1995 Night Springs City".

Night Springs is a fictional US town in the state of Arizona where the standalone expansion, Alan Wake's American Nightmare, was set.

In that game, it became a pathway to The Dark Place (at least in the most basic of terms), and the idea of Poison Pill being the opposite of a remedy has lent credence to the idea that this is teeing up some sort of DLC for the survival horror title.

With Summer Game Fest host Geoff Keighley picking up on the post, it's likely the DLC (if that is what it's hinting at) will be revealed at next week's event, if it doesn't appear at the PlayStation State of Play tomorrow.

Back in March, Remedy's Sam Lake confirmed that he's wrapped his motion capture scenes in the DLC for Alan Wake, suggesting his character, Alex Casey, will play some part.

Eagle-eyed fans also noted that Courtney Hope, who plays Jesse Faden in Control, had shared some photos of her in a photo booth. Given the two titles coexist in the "Remedyverse", it could suggest the two will cross paths in whatever the DLC ends up being.

Speaking to eXputer in January, Lake said "The expansions give us an opportunity to glimpse aspects of our universe that were not able to explore in Alan Wake 2 otherwise."

"We are excited about this. We were happy with what we achieved with Control's AWE expansion regarding setting up Alan Wake 2. That said, we are not looking to repeat that exactly.

"The Lake House will have a big focus on the Federal Bureau of Control and its research facility at Cauldron Lake. Beyond that, no matter how much, there will be hints about things to come in the Control sequel, you'll have to wait and see."
