By the majority, Black Ops 6 has fans extremely giddy. It looks like a welcome return to Call of Duty's roots, with Prestige Systems and Treyarch-typical three-lane maps being combined with new omnidirectional movement mechanics, hoping to blow the series into new heights.

But, to no surprise, you simply can't please all Call of Duty fans. Impossible. Some devoted fans are already furious at the developers for some minor details that appear to break "realism" in Black Ops 6.

Black Ops 6 fans are tearing into Treyarch for "realism-breaking"

Call of Duty doesn't have a great reputation to uphold when it comes to realism, as it's an arcade shooter with respawns enabled and often comes with crossover skins that you wouldn't see in the trenches.

But players still want 'realism,' and now, some are taking aim at specific optics used in the trailer that aren't strictly true to the era of the Gulf War.

In a popular post on X (formerly Twitter), one player has pointed out the there are EoTech sights and custom reticles on guns from the 90s, which wouldn't have come out until post-2000. "You had ONE JOB Treyarch," the angry user said, while others continued to carry on the conversation and nit-pick some minute details.

Treyarch normally prides itself on the minute details, but if one or two slip through the net, it doesn't mean Black Ops 6 will flop.

Some players quickly rallied in support of the developers and reiterated that this isn't the franchise for realism.

"There will be bunny skins by season 2 and y’all critique this," one fan joked. Another added, "CoD has never been realistic, why do you care? Their job wasn’t to make a documentary."

Still, Black Ops 6 is giving these types of fans something by committing to mil-sim skins from launch, giving the title some room to breathe before the creative collaborations slip in.
