While you might think junk in the trunk is the last thing we'd worry about in an asymmetric survival horror, it turns out a lot of you weren't impressed with what Pyramid Head was packing when he arrived in Dead by Daylight. The Silent Hill icon swung his blade into Behaviour Interactive's title last June, but it's taken a year for the devs to fix his ass.

Since its release in 2016, Dead by Daylight has been climbing the gaming charts and saw a massive uptick in players thanks to high-profile Twitch streams during the COVID-19 pandemic. Another major coup has been the various pop culture crossovers that have brought everything from The Texas Chainsaw Massacre to A Nightmare on Elm StreetResident Evil to Saw to the slaughterhouse.

Why is Pyramid Head's ass being fixed?

The announcement of Pyramid Head for Dead by Daylight was obviously huge news, with his status in the Silent Hill community putting him up there with the nurses and Robbie the Rabbit. Back when Pyramid Head was revealed, players noted his ample asset in the rear. We're not going to pretend we weren't more than a little disappointed this was MIA when he actually arrived in-game.

With accusations that Dead by Daylight nerfed Pyramid Head's ass, the latest patch has finally restored his rump to its former glory. We don't imagine you'll spend much time behind Pyramid Head - because you're presumably running away from him in front - but for those who like a back view, we can confirm he's looking fiiiiiine.

Was fixing Pyramid Head's booty a big deal?

Having a flat ass is a real-world problem that some people face, so we kinda feel for Pyramid Head. Yes, even if he is a bloodthirsty killing machine. The 5.1.1. patch notes confirm a number of fixes, with Pyramid Head's Dead by Daylight booty also getting a buff alongside issues that caused Jill Valentine from Resident Evil's face to be distorted and improving the performance of the Trickster.

In case you were worried this isn't a big deal, Pyramid Head's ass has become something of an icon in its own right. Last year, Dead by Daylight released a statement to Polygon and denied allegations it nerfed the killer's ass. In 2020, devs said, "I can confirm that while our art team did continue to polish Pyramid Head, his butt remained untouched. The apron covering his body was modified, which might create the illusion that his body was also changed.

"We leave it up to our players to discuss, at length, whether the change in garment has had a significant impact on his butt and how that will affect his performance as a killer". Still, it seems Behaviour Interactive has finally acknowledged Pyramid Head's ass wasn't what it could be. Even now, the patch notes say it could still be "too flat". Maybe Dead by Daylight should just put Nicki Minaj in there and be done with it.
