The Pokemon Company is still going hard on producing new content for fans, but those same fans are wondering if taking some time off would do them some good. They won’t while there’s money to be made, but it’s a nice thought.

After the rough visuals of Pokemon Legends: Arceus and the bugs and glitches that made the launch of Pokemon Scarlet & Violet so difficult to get through, fans are thinking that the efforts of The Pokemon Company are best left dormant for longer, in hopes that some more streamlined and serviceable gaming experiences could come of it.

It seems that something has clicked at the company, though, and if suspicions are proven correct, it looks like they could be taking on an entirely new strategy.

Last week, The Pokemon Company registered a brand new trademark for something called Pokemon Works, a new Japanese subsidiary. It’s a new company that is set to operate under the wing of The Pokemon Company.

As of right now, we don’t know a thing about the company, only that its official base of operations is in the same Shinjuku building as ILCA, the company that assisted The Pokemon Company and Game Freak with the development of Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl.

It’s compelling that a new company has developed so close to a team whose primary field is assistance with game development alongside Game Freak - and it has led fans to expect that Pokemon Works’ goal will be the same.

Fans theorise that Pokemon Works is for dev assistance

The first expectation of the company, especially thanks to its base of operations in the same area in Tokyo as a similar company, is that it has been established to help with game development, expected to begin with Pokemon Legends Z-A, coming next year.

Fans have been hoping that The Pokemon Company would do something to help bolster the quality of games in the franchise, as the last few titles have been sorely lacking in some areas, which has become obnoxiously clear with the launch of Scarlet & Violet. Here's hoping.
