Unless you've been lost in The Void with Alioth, chances are you'll know that Deadpool and Wolverine are everywhere right now. While the Merc with a Mouth and Clawed Canadian are currently leading Shawn Levy's Deadpool & Wolverine, we've seen their influence already spill over into video games.

While we never got that hyped Call of Duty collab, Fortnite officially got in on the action by adding new skins of the dynamic duo. In a weird twist, Deadpool & Wolverine's box office-topping success has led to a boom in interest in the pair, with it having a knock-on effect on their video game history.

High Moon Studios released 2013's Deadpool on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 under Activision. Packed with the same self-referential fourth-wall-breaking humour, the game followed the titular DP as he teamed up with Cable and the X-Men to try and defeat Mister Sinister's latest scheme.

It's the 2015 rerelease that's becoming increasingly hard to find, with the PS4 and Xbox One versions no longer available digitally. The rerelease honours the release of Tim Miller's 2016 movie and came packed with an additional DLC, but with it being delisted due to licensing issues in 2017, it's difficult to get your hands on it.

There are multiple reports that the PS4 and Xbox One versions of Deadpool are going for ludicrous sums online. Metro has noted two listings for the PS4 version, coming in at a jaw-dropping £38,374 and £38,500. For those who don't have that kind of cash, a quick search can find copies currently sitting around the £35 mark.

While we don't imagine anyone will be paying anywhere near £30k for Deadpool, BBC reports an unopened copy sold for £330 in the past week. The site also claims that copies have been selling for as much as £116, which is a far cry from it being readily available for just £9 when Deadpool 2 came out in 2018.

The Deadpool situation is an unfortunate commentary on the state of the industry, with many lamenting the loss of physical games and the idea we don't actually own our digital releases. Still, if you've got a copy of the 2015 rerelease, now might be a good time to get it listed.
