Kirby fans are in for a treat in 2022. The surprise reveal of Kirby and the Forgotten Land took a lot of players by surprise, not only because we weren't expecting a new title starring the pink puffball, but because the game looks like a huge departure for the series.

Taking on a NieR: Automata-style post-apocalypse as perhaps the cutest mascot in gaming seems like a blast, and with the gameplay trailers suggesting that it could be an exciting and sweet romp across a semi-open world, we could finally be on track to have a Kirby title genuinely breach expectations and push the spherical sweetheart onto the frontlines for Nintendo.

But, luckily for us, this might not be all we see of Kirby this year.

Has A New Kirby Game Been Teased For 2022

According to a translation from Twitter user Dededaio, the January issue of Nintendo Dream magazine comes with a teaser for a new Kirby game to come alongside Kiry and the Forgotten Land.

Supposedly, the next issue of the magazine will land on Monday, February 21, and "In addition to detailed news about Kirby and the Forgotten Land, we've also included a new game that we didn't expect! I have a feeling that a new I have a feeling that a new title will be announced".

It's bizarre to get word of a new Kirby game through the back pages of a Nintendo magazine, but it's still exciting regardless. This comes with the question - what could this extra, secret Kirby game be?

What Is The Extra Kirby Game?

The upcoming Kirby game seems like it could be a big surprise, although, we're not expecting anything hugely groundbreaking that could detract from the excitement of Kirby and the Forgotten Land. Perhaps it could be a port of one of the classic handheld titles to the Switch, or even something along the lines of the free games launched on Switch, like Tetris 99 and Super Mario Bros. 35.

We simply won't know until it shows up - that's if it shows up at all. Whatever is on the way, will it be able to compete with Kirby's new love of fishing? Either way, 2022 is the year of Kirby, and we can't wait to see what's in store for us.
