As wannabe Ash Ketchums will know, the Pokemon franchise has become a lot more than just collecting shiny Charizard cards and displaying them in a plastic wallet. Having long since branched out from its video game routes, Pokemon now includes everything from trading cards to anime, plushies to homewares, and even pricy jewellery

The Pokemerch market is one of its most lucrative, with various Pokemon Centers popping up around the world or shipping to you from their online hub. Sure, a Gengar bed is cute and all, but is it anything compared to a doe-eyed Eevee plushie? Now, a new line of Pokemon plushies threatens to empty your wallets.

The Pokemon Company reveals new Vivillon plushies

Available now from Japan's Pokemon Center, Vivillon is one of the latest additions to the official plushie line. Introduced in Gen VI, Vivillon is thought of as a poor man's Butterfree by some, but for others, they love this beautiful butterfly.

We see what The Pokemon Company is doing here, with the official X post confirming that changes in climate and soil affect the markings on Vivillon's wings. This means there are a whopping 20 variants of the latest plushie.

Although we don't know who you are, Pokemon purists will want to collect them all. At 1980 JPY each, that works out at around $13/£10 each. If you were going to get the entire collection, that would be a whopping $260/£200. Also, where are you going to find the room for all these Vivillon?

Pokemon's Kalos line will bankrupt you

The wallet draining doesn't end there. Alongside the 20 Vivillon, all 72 Pokemon from the Kalos region are joining the Pokemon Fit plushie series. Vivillon isn't the only one with a variant, as there are 10 different Furfrou to collect. This means there are 107 new plushies to purchase.

Pokeshopper.net has a handy guide on all the 'mon on offer, with the likes of Froakie, Dedenne and Litleo sure to be best sellers. Even though they might not cost much on their own, expect your shopping cart to soon be groaning as we try to decide which Gen VI favourites we need to be part of our collection.

As Pokeshopper noted, the Noibat Fit plush has sold out in just 28 minutes, meaning you'd best try and nab them while you can. There's no news on whether these plushies will make it to other territories, leaving some pricy shipping costs pushing the price up even more. Well, you said you wanted to catch 'em all.
