Everyone's favourite pink puffball could soon be making a comeback, as potential leaks of an unannounced Kirby game have started doing the rounds online. Just two years after Kirby and the Forgotten Land, is Nintendo already planning the series' return?

That gobbling gaming icon has been part of our lives since Kiby's Dream Land first came to the Game Boy back in 1992, but while we've long since moved past his 2D days, that retro charm still remains. While Forgotten Land was his first 3D game, many are hoping it isn't his last.

New Kirby game potentially leaked

Over on Reddit, fans showed off apparent leaks of a potential Kirby game. As the OG source is 4chan, we'll take it with a heavy dose of scepticism. The story of the leaks is equally wild, with someone apparently trying to solicit nudes by sharing insider leaks. Yep, that sounds like normal behaviour.

If these leaks are real and not some AI fake, it looks like Kirby could be heading to space next. While they don't give much away, we see a strange creature in a spacesuit while Kirby bounces around in the stars. It's giving some serious Mario Galaxy vibes, but obviously, we don't know what it means.

Some have noted the artwork looks like it might've been pulled from Kirby Star Allies, suggesting we've been duped. Another claims the use of Japanese in the post is "unnatural", also casting doubt on its legitimacy. Still, the replies show we're always ready for a new Kirby game.

If (and it's a big if) the leak is true, we will surely be waiting a while for a new Kirby. The Nintendo Switch is winding down as its successor is winding up. It doesn't look like the next console will be released until 2025, but when it lands, expect a bumper lineup of games old and new.

There have been some notable gaps in the Nintendo catalogue for a while, and alongside Metroid Prime 4, we're hopeful for the long-rumoured 3D Donkey Kong game, a successor to Super Mario Odyssey, and something related to Kirby. Sadly, this leak might not be it.
