It's a meme which started in Call of Duty, and now, is universally used within the gaming and media world.

The "press F to pay respects" quip from back in Call of Duty Ghosts is now used as a tag for anyone to jibe at another misfortune and has often been used to meme the series itself as it has entered many different dying states over the years.

But with the latest update to Warzone, the Call of Duty developers have now played homage to the press F to pay respects joke. It's done by including a new variation of the message in an Easter egg on Fortune's Keep.

In turn, with the new update to Warzone and the reintroduction of Fortune's Keep, players have already found the press F to pay respects meme on the map - despite it not even being available to the public yet.

Popular content creator "Dougdagnabbit", also known as the face of ModernWarzone, was among a list of streamers and influencers who were invited down the Treyarch headquarters to test out the map early, and has since showcased the Easter egg in action.

In his gameplay, Dougdagnabbit found that one of the graves has the "press F to pay respects" interaction button. The new Easter egg actually infers that "Jake", whose grave you stand over, was one of the builders of the keep, and his memory should live on as long as the castle stands.

Previously, Fortune's Keep had a different variation of this Easter egg, as players could find a reanimated Zombie at the grave once it was interacted with.

The side-quest would see "Jake" rise from the ground and attack the player who initiated it but dropped multiple legendary loot caches like Self Revives.

This is no longer possible on the new map, as the developers say the Zombie is no longer undead and has perished.

For those Easter egg fans, there will still be plenty more to sink your teeth into. High Moon Studios has confirmed that there are plenty of cheeky references and missions to undergo on the map that have yet to be found.
