Gun inspections have never really been an art of Call of Duty that is admired. Maybe when you get a fine golden Deagle, but for the console side of the series, it's always been a bit plain Jane.

That is with the exception of CoD Mobile, which took up a very VALORANT-like approach to its inspections, turning one weapon in particular into a full-blown movie.

Modern Warfare 3 adds the wildest weapon inspection ever in Season 5

Alongside MW3 Season 5, Activision is adding two new Blueprints which have really upped the ante in the creative department.

The first inspection that has gone viral sees players harness a flying violescent electric eel-looking creature that chases little fishy bullets around their screen and back into their gun chamber.

The second is equally impressive, as a new sniper blueprint has the gun explode in a beautiful supernova of parts before being warped back together with the .50 cal rounds slotting into the bronze blueprint.

The new animations are already being applauded by fans, who appreciate the creativity added to a game that is usually notoriously beige.

Taking to Twitter, one fan said, "Okay that Mastercraft may honestly be worth the money, that is absolutely unbelievable..." Another added, "These weapon inspects are cooler than the game."

The timing of the wild blueprint inspections comes as evidence that Activision wants to test the waters with it fan base as to whether or not this is a step too far.

But already, the feedback has been resounding, and it might be that the publishers are ready to take that VALORANT plunge and make these inspections much more creative.

There is a hitch, though. Riot Games' latest bundle, with the Evori Dreamwings collection that has furry familiars helping in the inspections, costs a stunning $70, which might mean even more price hikes coming to Activision's microtransactions if this theme continues.
