There's a long road(map) ahead, and while the clock is running out on Modern Warfare 3, last year's Call of Duty has a jam-packed Season 5. Alongside a new Mario Party-inspired mode and the return of Superstore, we've got an all-star WWE crossover.

We might not just be getting in the ring with Cody Rhodes, Rey Mysterio, and Rhea Ripley, with another crossover teased further down the line. While many are disappointed the rumoured Deadpool & Wolverine collab never came to pass, another major movie tie-in could be arriving in Season 5.

Call of Duty fans think The Crow is coming in Season 5

The MW3 Season 5 roadmap laid out what's coming and when, but players have been drawn to the mention of a 'classified' crossover at some point during the season. We've only been given a shadowy outline of who this mystery person is, but it definitely looks like some sort of male in a trench coat.

It's anyone's guess what's on the way, but several fans have noticed similarities between the silhouette and Bill Skarsgård's Eric Craven/The Crow from the movie of the same name. As a reboot of the iconic 1994 movie that starred the late Brandon Lee, Skarsgård takes the lead for Rupert Sanders' upcoming movie.

Dataminers found references to The Crow back in May, and with it being in the same string of text as Fallout (which we've already had a crossover for), it's not too hard to put the pieces together. With The Crow hitting cinemas on August 23, the timelines also neatly match up.

We've seen Call of Duty get increasingly outlandish with its crossovers for the likes of Godzilla vs Kong, the NBA, and Cheech and Chong. We've also seen MW3 mocked as we continue to move away from its mil-sim roots, with The Crow only highlighting these complaints.

It's fair to say the reception toward The Crow's trailers has been mixed, so we doubt a CoD collab will sway that. Also, as skins won't carry over into Black Ops 6, there are some questions about whether it's worth buying bundles unless you're a Warzone die-hard.
