The Call of Duty realism brigade is currently losing their minds, as Activision has rolled out a new series of Mil-Sim characters but with a furry twist.

For some time now, Activision has scaled back its approach to Operator skins, having gone over the top in the final year of Warzone (during the Vanguard era) - with the likes of King Kong and Snoop Dog taking realism and dropping it like it's hot.

But since Modern Warfare 2 came into fruition and the Warzone sequel was released, Mil-Sim and ghillie suits have been the way forward...until now.

Easter Bunny skin is mocking Mil-Sim lovers in Modern Warfare 2

With the exception of Shredder, who just looked like a standard Call of Duty character with extra armour, akin to a juggernaut, the Operators have been toned down to the standard grey and beige outifits.

However, the new "Mr Hips" skin is making players go hopping mad, as the Easter Bunny outfits have been placed on a brown camo skin.

The skin almost mocks Mil-Sim lovers, by placing the same clothes as a normal character over the top of a bunny costume.

"It's sad to see this franchise go down this path... Been playing since Cod 4, this is getting out of hand now," one fan said. "F**king stupid. Plus, Easter is over," another added.

"Makes me hopping mad," joked a further fan. A third summed up, "I think it dilutes the look and feel/ identity of the game. Either choose to be over the top wacky Fortnite or don't."

Other players mocked the sweaty player who will be buying the skin too, adding that it's quite befitting that the Easter rabbits will be "bunny hopping" around corners.

The Mil Sim bunnies haven't quite been as divisive as the BlackCell Battle Pass upgrade, which has been slammed as a cash-grab from some fans but has also crept up to third in Steam's most-sold items. Still, we thought Easter was over.
