Metal Gear Solid 3 Remake Teased By Viral Video
Metal Gear Solid, though now without its father, still has a lot to offer Konami. The game series will never be the same without the input of video game auteur Hideo Kojima, but there's still a lot that can be done with the series from a business perspective - namely, remakes.
Remakes of the original games would be welcomed with open arms in the modern gaming landscape, and any opportunity to relive players' childhoods would be a cracking selling point - but so far, we've seen nothing from Konami. That is, of course, until now.
Morse Code Video Seems To Tease MGS 3 Remake
After frustrations that Metal Gear Solid 3 - Snake Eater has become relatively inaccessible to players in 2022, there are fresh hints to the reveal of a full remake of the game to come later this year. A video was posted to the YouTube channel of Chinese developer Virtuos... and swifty deleted. Fans think it's subtly pointing towards a reveal for the remake.
The video begins with a lush landscape, accompanied by birdsong - before it taps out morse code that points toward the date December 8 1964. Not only is this the date that Snake Eater is deemed to take place, but December 8 is the date of this year's Game Awards. Interesting.
Why Do Fans Think Virtuos Is Working On MGS?
It's all well and good to make these presumptions - but why do fans think that Virtuos have access to the Metal Gear Solid license in the first place?
Well, a recent video posted to its YouTube channel has taken fans behind the scenes at the studio. On the desk of concept artist Louis-Alex Boismenu, there sits a Metal Gear Solid art book. A simple act of fandom, or a tease at bigger things to come? As of right now, we're just going to have to wait and see - but luckily, it's not too far off. Roll on The Game Awards.
