Season 5 Reloaded has finally been announced and it's set to bring a huge amount of new content to Modern Warfare 2.

With fan-favourite modes returning, a new set of weapons, and of course, a selection of fresh cosmetics, there's plenty to get excited about.

However, there's one fundamental feature that's getting a significant amount of attention, and it's the "Play Again" option in MW2 multiplayer.

This function has been heavily-requested and it's finally making an appearance in Season 5 Reloaded, but some fans are disappointed that the devs refuse to go back to the old days when lobbies didn't disband.

MW2 "Play Again" lobby feature is coming in Season 5 Reloaded

As reported by CharlieINTEL and showcased in the Call of Duty blog, a "Play Again" feature is being added to Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer.

This long-awaited function allows players on the same team to opt to play together again in another match if they choose.

"Adapted from Call of Duty: Warzone to meet the Multiplayer experience, after each match, all players – or, specifically, solo players and designated Party Leaders – on the same team can opt to stick together for the next match."

While the ability to stick together is a solid addition in MW2 Season 5 Reloaded, it's not been delivered in the form players would prefer.

Instead of adding a "Play Again" option, MW2 fans were hoping Activision would take inspiration from the old days and prevent lobbies from disbanding.

"At this point what is the point in even keeping lobby disbanding a thing?" said one confused player, with another arguing "Should've just kept it how it was in the old COD games."

When it comes to why Activision won't bring back lobbies not disbanding, a lot of fans speculate it's related to SBMM. Keeping the same teams together can lead to one-sided matches, but it does take away from the rivalry that comes with getting your revenge on a set of enemies.

For now, "Play Again" is the only option, but at least it gives teams a chance to stay together to secure more victories.
