LEGO crossovers are hard to predict, and especially hard to make sense of especially as the brand moves further into video games.

When a project leaks, it’s hard to tell if it’s going to be a set, a game, or a section of LEGO Fortnite’s buildathon mode - especially when it comes to Nintendo, a company that has had plenty of collaborations with LEGO rumoured that never made it to life - but the recent Animal Crossing sets brought speculation back in a big way.

And now, another iconic franchise has joined the club of Nintendo properties getting the brick treatment.

The Legend of Zelda’s Deku Tree is coming as a LEGO set

It’s finally happening.

The Legend of Zelda is finally getting its own LEGO set in the form of a 2-in-1 Deku tree set, featuring minifigures of Link and Zelda.

Modelled on something that exists in two games, both Breath of the Wild and Ocarina of Time in its reflections of the tree itself, with the Master Sword and a Korok joining in on the fun too.

It’s a great-looking set, but naturally, it’s going to be a big expense for fans, as the set is live on the LEGO site for £259.99. Thankfully it’s not the most expensive nerdy set we’ve seen in recent weeks, with the Lord of the Rings Barad-dǔr set running fans almost twice that, but it’s still one hell of a cost, that frankly, we expect many will dedicate to.

It’s great news that we’re getting a new Legend of Zelda set, that could be foreshadowing more yet to come. The series has plenty of locales to adopt - though we’re not sure we have the patience to build an ocean of blue bricks in a Wind Waker set. Anything else would be great though.
