Star Wars Jedi: Survivor might be a few weeks further away than we had hoped, but that hasn't done much to quell our excitement for the game.

Once its predecessor was able to tidy up its glitches and get its head screwed on, 2019's Fallen Order was an incredible adventure across the galaxy far, far away, and its sequel promises the same.

But, there's one element that some fans simply aren't keen on. Sorry, it looks like you'll have to get your hands dirty as Cal Kestis murders his way across the Star Wars cosmos.

Jedi: Survivor Is Making Fans Kill Innocent Animals (Again)

While Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order was a fun time, there were a few gameplay loops that it fell back on over the story. One of the most notable is that it kept pitting you against the native inhabitants of your region.

As animals crawled out of the ground to protect their home and their loved ones, you were forced to chop them to bits without a second thought.

The practice was very common in the first game, and now thanks to a new look at gameplay from IGN, it's clear that the same is true of its 2023 sequel.

For those who simply want to have a good time petting Tauntauns, this news of animal massacres has inspired a wave of sadness from players.

Fans Don't Want To Kill Jedi: Survivor's Animals

The feature hasn't exactly inspired a PETA-esque revolt, but wannabe Jedi aren't keen on the idea of killing innocent animals, simply because that's not a good vibe. We're trying to stop the Empire here, not weird mud monsters lashing out in self-defence.

One critic said, "I will make it my goal to actively not harm any animals when playing Jedi Survivor unless it has to be done to progress the story I guess :("

Another added, "I already didn't vibe with killing animals so much in FO and hoped there'd be more opportunities to tame wildlife and end combat peacefully in Survivor but ..."

A third concluded, "Hey, maybe this time around we won't have to murder EVERY f*****g animal Cal encounters... ...oh god."

It's a shame to see the Jedi: Survivor land back in criticism territory, especially when there are plenty of other enemies that could do with being run through with a lightsaber. We want to kill Stormtroopers, not Ewoks!
